Desk - Libaire Interior DesignDeborah Libaire has been designing interiors for over 25 years. Her projects range from Maine to Key West; from Manhattan to Palm Beach; from the Hamptons to Kiawah Island. They are usually near the ocean and go from new construction to restorations and renovations. She has worked with a wide range of architects and builders in both residential and commercial construction.

Rather than employing one particular style, she works closely with the architecture, the setting and the clients' individual taste to get the maximum results. Her clients are accomplished personalities with strong ideas - they generally have Powder Room - Libaire Interior Designcollections of art, furniture, books, etc. and want a wonderful setting to showcase them.

Being a collector herself, Deborah is especially empathetic to these needs and innovative in designing a fresh and appropriate housing. "The best thing about incorporating objects you are passionate about into a new setting is that you get to see everything in a new light, literally and figuratively. When you arrange paintings, for example, in an uncluttered space with updated fabrics they are "rediscovered". You can then pull new, unexpected colors from them or use a Torchiere - Libaire Antiques and Interior Designsoothing neutral backdrop to enhance them in a way that makes your client fall in love with them all over again."

Today there are more incredible textiles available than ever before, and Deborah has a great eye for picking out fabrics and textures that compliment their setting and play off art, carpets, antiques, views, etc. "The fabrics should never look "brand new" and should rarely, if ever, be the focal point - they are the ultimate accessory!"

Over the years Deborah has developed a wide range of resources for custom furniture and upholstery, draperies / window treatments, lighting, art, antiques, carpets, special paint finishes, etc.

"In the end, I want each client to feel that their home is uniquely theirs, reflecting their personality and their interests in an integrated, tasteful setting. Personally I really love to add an element of surprise as long as it doesn't interfere with the overall effect from the client's perspective!"
